Pachmatha Temple, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh ..........by K J S Chatrath

I visited the Pachmatha Temple, situated near Adhartal Lake in Jabalpur a few years back. It is believed to be approximately 1100 years old and is regarded as a remarkable historical monument. Located near the Adhartal Lake, this temple is approximately 6.8 km from Jabalpur Railway Station and about 16.2 km from Jabalpur Airport

Its name stems from its design featuring five domes (“Pachmatha”) rooted in the structure of a Shri Yantra, making it architecturally  beautiful. Devotees claim that the idol of Goddess Lakshmi housed here changes color thrice daily—in the morning it appears white, by midday turns yellow, and in the evening shifts to a blue hue. I was there for a very short time and did not see any change of colours.

The temple has been a center of Tantrik worship and spiritual practice, drawing seekers from across the country.

On Fridays, who often visit in large numbers, it's believed that worshipping here for seven consecutive Fridays can fulfill all heartfelt desires

The temple complex includes idols of Radha-Krishna, Hanuman, and representations of the Dwadash Jyotirlinga.
